About Al Arqam Islamic Centre
Serving the Muslim community of Casey and greater Canberra since our founding โ a place for prayer, learning and belonging.
A community built around the masjid
Al Arqam Islamic Centre began as a small community of families in Canberra's south who wanted a local place to pray, learn and raise their children in an environment grounded in Islamic values. What started as informal gatherings for prayer and Quran classes has grown into a full community hub serving Muslims across Casey and the wider ACT region.
Today, Al Arqam offers the five daily prayers, structured Islamic education, a Quran memorisation academy, family learning programs, youth and fitness activities, and a full calendar of community events โ all under one roof, welcoming to everyone.
Our growth has been made possible entirely through the generosity, volunteering and dedication of our local community, and we remain committed to serving that same community as we continue to grow.

Assalamu Alaikum, and welcome
"Whether you have been part of this community for years or you are stepping into a masjid for the very first time, you are welcome at Al Arqam. Our doors are open for the five daily prayers, for learning, and simply for connection. I encourage every visitor to introduce themselves after prayer โ our community is here to help."

More than a place of prayer
Al Arqam exists to support every part of a Muslim family's life in Canberra โ from a child's first Quran lesson to a fundraising dinner that brings hundreds of community members together. We work alongside schools, community organisations and other Canberra mosques to serve the broader Muslim community, and we welcome non-Muslim visitors, students and neighbours who want to learn more about Islam.
